TMA PE Newsletter February 2024

Badminton

This term, children have been enjoying Badminton lessons in PE! Many children have gone on to represent Two Mile Ash School across several events over the past few weeks including Year 3,4 & 5 festivals at both Shenley Brook End and Glebe Farm Schools as well as in Y5 & 6 matches held at TMA against Bushfield School. All children did amazing!

A huge well done goes to our Year 6 Doubles Team who came 2nd out of 9 in their MK Schools Competition on Monday 29th January! Our Girls came 1st in their competition (7 wins, 1 loss) and our Boys positioned 4th (5 wins, 3 losses) in a brilliant performance!

Cross Country

A huge well done to the Year 5/6 Cross Country teams that competed at the Bucks County Championships at Stowe School on Wednesday 7th February 2024! All 14 of you put in your best effort and represented the school amazingly. Individual highlights included Ella in 15th in the Girls race as well as Mihai (4th), Krish (19th) and William (21st). Congratulations to the boys' team on their 3rd place finish overall and to the girls for achieving 6th place! Thank you, Mrs Natalie, for your support on the day.

Basketball

Thank you to recently crowned National Cup champions, MK Breakers and to MKSSP for organising an amazing experience for our Y5&6 Basketball Team. As the winners of an MKSSP basketball tournament in November, they were given the chance to play a game in front of the MK Breakers Crowd during half time on Saturday 27th January!

We are very proud of the team who put on a great performance in the game against fellow IFTL school Whitehouse! Thank you to all the TMA families that came to support both MK Breakers and TMA!

Dodgeball

It was great to see over 70 children from Years 5 & 6 represent TMA in Dodgeball festivals and fixtures this term, coming up against schools including Bushfield, Caroline Haslett, Green Park, Orchard, and Summerfield! You all showed fair play, great energy, and enthusiasm - Well done to all!

Orienteering

Another sport children have been learning about this term is Orienteering as part of their OAA topic. Well done to the Year 4s at the Bushfield School Orienteering Festival on Friday 2nd February. You worked well together to navigate around the course using your maps and finding clues!

Football

The Year 3 & 4 boys kicked off their football for the year with a visit over to Stanton School picking up a draw in each game. This was followed by a tournament at Middleton School that saw the boys leave with a record of W3 D1 L1. The boys have been amazing at displaying teamwork, resilience, and fairness - putting them in a very promising position for their upcoming Football League at Fairfields School starting in February.

Tag Rugby

Thank you, Middleton School for hosting a fun Year 4 Tag Rugby Festival on Wednesday 31st January. We got to play games against Middleton, Portfields and Wavendon Gate Schools! You all showed great progress and there were some amazing tries scored, well done!

Hockey

It was great to host a Year 4 Hockey fixture on Wednesday 7th February with our visitors, Bushfield School. A group of Year 4s showed great improvement, resilience, and determination in all the games they played, demonstrating the skills they are developing this term in PE lessons.
