Association for Physical Education Quality Mark with Distinction

We are VERY pleased to announce that Two Mile Ash School has been awarded the 'Distinction' afPE Quality Mark for PE, School Sport, and Physical Activity!

To achieve this prestigious award, we underwent a process in February 2024 which involved a written application and visit from an afPE validator. A panel then assessed the impact of our PE, School Sport and Physical Activity offer and commended us for demonstrating outstanding commitment to PESSPA. The award lasts for 3 years.

To support with this application, we used feedback gained from recent pupil and parent surveys. Thank you to the 136 parents that completed the PE and School Sport survey in February. We really appreciate the time so many of you took to write wonderfully kind comments. Having reflected on the survey responses, we have started work towards further improvements in our PESSPA offer, including investment new play equipment for lunchtimes.

Thank you all for your continued support,

Mr Saville & Mr Hobley

Football

We are extremely proud of our Year 5 & 6 Girls football team that finished 4th in a very competitive MKPSFA Girls Football League this term. Their record was 5 wins, 1 draws and 3 losses in 9 great matches of football! A big well done to all of those involved.

We are thrilled to say that our year 3 & 4 Boys Football Team won the MKPSFA Football league, picking up only 1 loss during their campaign. This success then led to the boys gaining a 3rd place spot across the Milton Keynes schools at the final’s night. We are so proud of each one of you that have taken part in the football fixtures throughout this term, well done!

In May we held four House Football competitions. 390 children took part, including 149 girls across 135 matches in total! Well done to everybody involved - lots of goals and enjoyment. Overall winners for each year group were Year 3 - Hawthorne; Year 4 - Emburey; Year 5 - Rutherford; Year 6 - Rutherford.

On Wednesdays 8th & 15th May, we both hosted and travelled to Girls’ football festivals. It was great to see so many girls enjoying themselves and growing in confidence! Some excellent goals scored too – Well done!

Swimming

On Thursday 23rd May our Year 3 & 4 swim team competed in the Year 3 & 4 Swimming Gala at Bletchley Leisure Centre. The team competed against 14 other schools but remained focussed and determined! The hard work and determination all paid off, with our team securing top 3 places in nearly all races. This resulted in us securing a 1st place finish and being crowned champions! We are so incredibly proud of you all on such an amazing achievement. Thank you to all the parents and families that took the time to come and support, creating an amazing atmosphere!

Tennis

On Friday 17th May, we hosted a Milton Keynes Primary Schools Tennis Festival welcoming 40 young people from Two Mile Ash, Tickford, SMSG, Bushfield and Wavendon Gate Schools to take part in a series of fun games. The tournament, organised by MK Youth Korfball and including one of their youth teams, gave children the chance to try out a new sport! Two Mile Ash had three teams in the competition, taking 1st, 2nd, and 4th overall and displaying excellent play in their games - well done to all! Thank you to one of last year's winners and ex-pupil, Mia for visiting to present the trophy!

Netball

We are so proud of our Year 6 Netball Team, who represented Milton Keynes at the County Netball Finals at Kingsbrook School, Aylesbury on Monday 20th May. They won 7 out of their 9 matches, scoring 40 goals! Despite this incredible record and wonderful Netball on show throughout the whole tournament, they missed out on the medals, finishing an impressive 4th out of 10 overall! Well done to all of you on a great year of Netball, you have been a pleasure to work with. Thank you to Kym from MK Netters for her coaching and support too.
