Sports Days

Congratulations to Rutherford (Red) House on being crowned overall Sports Day 2024 Champions! Rutherford House won the Year 3, 4 & 5 Sports Days with Hawthorne being crowned Year 6 champions.

Well done to all children for taking part with amazing energy and enthusiasm - Mr Saville and Mr Hobley are proud of you all! Thank you also to all the parents and families for your support, including those involved in parent races and Tug of War contests! Photos from the Sports Day are on the School Website.

Sports Days were during the TMA Sports Week, where children were encouraged to take part in at least 5 activities during the week, raising money in the process. We are immensely grateful for the amazing generosity in supporting us to raise over £1200 to go directly towards projects to improve the sport and PE provision at Two Mile Ash School. THANK YOU to all of you that donated.

Athletics

Our talented, hardworking and committed Athletics Team WON the Ultra Schools Athletics Competition at Stantonbury on Monday 24th June! Up against 13 other excellent schools, this was a huge achievement - all 24 of you across Years 3-6 did the school proud!

Adding to this success, our Year 5/6 team went on to become County Quad Kids Athletics Champions 2024!

All 16 athletes performed wonderfully at the event on Wednesday 10th July, hosted by Dr Challenors High School. They each competed in the 75m, 600m, Long Jump and Vortex Throw, with each of their scores contributing to the overall results!

On Monday 8th July we hosted an Athletics Festival which saw over 80 children from Two Mile Ash, Loughton, Whitehouse, Bushfield, Brooklands Farm and Cold Harbour Schools take part in track, field and relay challenges! It was great to see so much enjoyment, encouragement and hard work!

Thank you Safesmart for donating money towards the medals and trophy awarded by our amazing ex-pupils and leaders for excellent sportsmanship, courage and respect.

Cricket

This term, our Boys and Girls Year 5/6 Cricket teams did the school proud! A wonderful day in London taking a tour and playing at the world-famous Lord’s Cricket Ground was sandwiched by both teams winning their Milton Keynes Schools Competitions in June and representing at the County Cricket Finals at Dinton CC in July. You all represented the school brilliantly, improved as cricketers, and have been a pleasure to work with over lunchtimes and matches this term!

Well done to the Year 5/6 pupils from Two Mile Ash, Bushfield, Wavendon Gate and Loughton Schools on Friday 7th June in the TMA Cricket Festival! Lots of great Cricket on show from all involved.

Thank you to ex-pupils Ollie, Kaiden, Dhilan and George for supporting with umpiring, as well as Riley who spent a great week on work experience with us!

Cycling

Following a successful Bikeability Olympics Heat at Two Mile Ash School on Wednesday 12th June, we qualified for the Finals on Friday 5th July held at Middleton Hall, centre:mk! Up against eight other schools, we achieved 5 individual medals, and the team were crowned 2024 champions - you all did brilliant! Thanks to Cycling Citizens MK and Bikeability for organising and to Mayor of Milton Keynes, Marie Bradburn for attending events and encouraging children to cycle!

This term children have been busy cycling and ‘blinging’ their bike, with up to 86 bikes being counted daily in school! It is amazing to see so many children cycling and this includes those that have joined us on our Friday Bike Buses from Great Holm to Two Mile Ash – thank you to the parents that have supported us with this too. 70 children completed their Level 2 Bikeability training in June/July taking our overall total to 149 (44%) Year 5 and 6 pupils to have been awarded their cycling proficiency. Our pledge to MK Council is to reach 80% by 2025!

Basketball

In May we were fortunate to be invited to the Milton Keynes Breakers Basketball Club Junior Awards Night at Shenley Brook End where we proudly received the Primary School of the Year Award. We are so happy with the amazing club link we have with the MK Breakers who provide so many wonderful opportunities for our pupils and children across Milton Keynes to play Basketball. Thank you to Paige, Burak, George and Josh for all their support and we look forward to working with you again next year!

Netball

Well done to both of our Year 6 Netball teams on Tuesday 2nd July! Up against teams from Olney, Wavendon Gate, Loughton & SMSG you all played amazing. Our Reds finished Runners Up! MVPs, as voted by the other teams and umpires were Daisy & Renée.

Football

Well done to all of our year 3 & 4 and year 5 & 6 footballers that took part in the MK Dons SET Euro 2024 Tournament on Tuesday 9th July. Playing as England during the tournament we had an amazing day with both year 3 & 4 team finishing top of their group and narrowly missing out on a spot in the final. A huge well done for all of your teamwork, resilience and for representing our school (and England!) so proudly.

Swimming

On Thursday 23rd May our Year 3 & 4 swim team competed in the Year 3 & 4 Swimming Gala at Bletchley Leisure Centre. The team competed against 14 other schools but remained focussed and determined! The hard work and determination all paid off, with our team securing top 3 places in nearly all races. This resulted in us securing a 1st place finish and being crowned champions! We are so incredibly proud of you all on such an amazing achievement.

Rounders

With 3 wins across two weeks of the Year 5/6 Bushfield School Rounders League, TMA secured 2nd place overall! Well done to all players, you showed great improvement in your batting, bowling and fielding skills! This term we have also had Rounders friendlies against Heronsgate and Fairfields Schools – well done to all children involved in fun games this term!
