Boys and Girls from TMA, Loughton, SMSG, Caroline Haslett, Chesnuts, Kent’s Hill Park, Jubilee Wood, Wavendon Gate and Christ the Sower Schools played in friendly matches. Lots of goals and great determination on show from all! Thank you to our ex-pupils that came to support with refereeing and coaching.

House Football

In September we hosted two lunchtime House Football Competitions with 180 Year 5 & 6 pupils taking part! All teams played 5 matches in great spirit, enjoying the lovely weather too!

Congratulations Hawthorne (Year 6) and Emburey (Year 5) on your victories!

Kommando Kids

Well done to our group of Year 5 & 6 children that went over to Milton Keynes Gymnastics Centre on Tuesday 8th October. We had lots of fun on the trampolines, jumping into the foam pits and completing the obstacle courses! Lots of red faces from all the hard work and enjoyable play we got to engage with. Great work all, a thoroughly deserved afternoon out for a great group!

Modeshift Stars

We are very pleased to announce our Very Good Modeshift STARS accreditation!

This achievement recognises our efforts to promote active travel habits which our pupils and families have been engaging with.

Thank you for your support with initiatives such as our Bike Bus Walking and Cycle to School Weeks as well as Bikeability.

TMA Bike Bus & Cycle to School Week

Thank you to everybody involved in this term’s Bike Bus, especially the kind parent volunteers that have been starting the ride each Friday. We will be back around March/April 2025 for the return of the Bike Bus! Despite rubbish weather, lots of pupils took part in Cycle to School Week in September! Year 6 Cycle Ambassadors Josh & Lyra were kept busy counting bikes and scooters, stamping ‘Cycle Reward Cards’ and handing out certificates and prizes to those involved. Keep enjoying your cycling and scooting to school.

Bikeability & Learn to Ride

In October, over 70 Year 6s took to their bikes to complete their Level 2 Bikeability Courses, taking us to our target (and MK Council pledge) of 80% of the year group cycling proficient by 2025. With further courses later in the school year, we hope to go beyond this target, as well as provide opportunities for Year 5 pupils. All pupils represented the school wonderfully as the instructors complimented their desire to learn and work on their skills.

In September, we welcomed Bikeability instructors to work with children one-to-one in Learn to Ride sessions at TMA. Across two days, 38 children improved their cycling confidence, with most of them now competent to go onto their Level 2 Bikeability Courses.

Swimming

From Tuesday 5th November – Monday 2nd December 2024, the Two Mile Ash ‘Pools to Schools’ programme returns. Following the success of 2023, in which over 400 pupils had the opportunity to access swimming lessons and clubs, sessions return for 4 weeks next term!

Letters have been sent out to ALL Year 4 & 5 pupils with details of FREE Swimming Lessons in school time (on the same two days your child has PE each week). Additionally, a group of Year 6 pupils have been selected for ‘catch-up’ swim lessons twice a week. Please read the information, including swim days and kit required for sessions. Orienteering

Thank you to Jack & Kelly from Cross-Curricular Orienteering for their amazing sessions on Thursday 17th October as part of an Orienteering Launch Day!

We learned lots about orienteering and how to use our new courses set up across the school and field. We are excited to add orienteering into more PE lessons, other subject areas and as a lunchtime opportunity!
